- There are many forms of violence: physical, emotional, psychological, spiritual, sexual, verbal, property, intergenerational, financial, self, cultural, and institutional

- Violence is a learned behaviour and as such can be unlearned

- We promote professional standards of delivery of services
- We foster debate and research for violence prevention
- We promote people working in equality and respect
- We support the autonomy of all ethnic and gender groups, and communities as they find their own place within a non-violent society
- We support the strengthening of families and community
- We promote self respect and commitment to change, in people's lives, in a way that allows them to live more fully in equality and in respect of others
- We promote the Well-being of people as a way to change harmful behaviour and will act to enhance, support and develop intimate relationships, peaceful living and respect for self, children, women, men and the environment
- We promote and support positive relationship, positive models, positive identity, positive health, spirituality, and creativity
- We actively work to change models of behaviour in the media to ones of non-violent and respectful relationship
- We seek mutual co-operation and accountability with organisations with similar objectives
- We promote professional standards of behaviour and service delivery for our members and promote a code of conduct and require our members to maintain standards
- We promote and encourage new ways of creating a non-violent community
- We promote the enhancement of intergenerational relationship and value young and old
- We promote accountability of all members and of the community to the victims of abuse and the agencies that work with them
- We develop and promote training of members for the purposes of preventing violence
